WHY EARLY VOTING MATTERS

Voters at Historically Black Colleges and Universities will make the difference this election! Today, there are nearly 300,000 students attending over 100 HBCUs located in 19 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. 80,000 voters made the difference in 2016 and only 537 voters in 2000.

Together, HBCUs have the power to affect 238 of the 270 Electoral College votes needed to be President of the United States and 13 of 35 Senate seats. Don’t wait, VOTE NOW!

Voting is Your Legacy

Your ancestors fought, bled, and died for your right to vote. Don’t let apathy or voter suppression take that away from you or your children.

Voting is Your Power

If you don’t act to protect your interests, who will? Unless you can write a big check, your power comes from joining others to vote them in − or out. Don’t give away your power!

Early Voting is Smarter

You’re smart. You’ve heard the candidates. You’ve made up your mind. So why wait in line to vote? Don’t risk weather, work, or voter suppression stopping you from claiming your legacy and asserting your power!

HOW EARLY VOTING WORKS

Most states with HBCUs allow early voting. You can vote in-person before Election Day. You don’t need an excuse to vote early — you can vote early even if you are capable of voting at the polls on Election Day.

Some states with HBCUs offer absentee in-person voting. You can cast an absentee ballot in-person, as long as you have a valid excuse for not voting on Election Day.

Find all the information you need to find out how and where to vote early in your state.
